Alabama Hispanic Association
AHA is committed to promoting education and learning of the Spanish language. Yearly, AHA recognizes one student from each of the participating high schools in the Huntsville area that has shown the most outstanding achievement and interest in the study of Spanish and the Hispanic culture.
The students are selected and evaluated by their respective Spanish teachers, following guidelines established by AHA. Each student receives a certificate for his or her accomplishments and each participating school receives a plaque to display the names of past recipients of the award.
The presentation of awards are held once a year at a different high school. Promoting the study of the Spanish language to high schools students is important to AHA because it prepares them to work in a multi-lingual environment.
