| The Hispanic festival is only a few days away and we're very excited about the prospect of all of us coming together to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. The program is packed with wholesome family entertainment. For starters, we'll have FOUR live bands playing throughout the afternoon for your listening and dancing pleasure: | ||||||||||
| 1) Luis Treviño and
his Latin Rhythms Band 2) The hot Latin sounds of Mambo Gris Gris 3) Cumbias by Grupo Conquistador and 4) Caribbean music by Reggae Mystics |
||||||||||
| In between the bands' playing, we'll have a floor show that you'll surely enjoy. We're bringing the Folkloric Ballet of Mexico who will dazzle you with a colorful performance. The Holy Spirit Catholic Youth will do a beautiful folkloric fashion show. Professional dancers and singers will entertain you with great performances. Spanish Club students from local schools will participate with song and dance routines. And the list goes on….. | ||||||||||
| The children's activities will take place in the beautiful park just outside the Depot Roundhouse. There's an assortment of games and contests planned for the kids. We'll have the traditional piñata breaking contest plus sack races, Pin-the-Tail on the Donkey, Ring Toss, crafts projects and much more. Lots of prizes will be awarded to the winners of games and contests. The children will definitely enjoy "Sparkles the Clown" who will be making balloon animals and performing slight-of-hand tricks. | ||||||||||
| But that's not all! We'll have exhibits, a health and welfare clinic, arts and crafts, information booths and food vendors. The Redstone Arsenal Color Guard will present the colors and the Honorable Loretta Spencer, Mayor of Huntsville, will open the festivities. | ||||||||||
| I've given you a general overview of what will be going on at the festival. But if we truly want to make it a huge success we'll need your support. Don't forget to mark your calendar to attend the Hispanic Festival at the Depot Roundhouse this coming Saturday, September 13. Bring your children, relatives and friends. We're absolutely certain you'll have a jolly good time! If possible, arrive early to get a good parking spot. See you at the Festival! | ||||||||||

right to do what we want, but what we ought. Let us have faith that right
