This is the third year AHA is conducting an after school tutoring and mentoring program at Morris Elementary School. The purpose of this program is to offer individualized and customized tutoring to Hispanic students with limited English proficiency.

AHA’s primary goal is to help Hispanic students overcome obstacles in learning by providing assistance with English skills, thereby enhancing their overall educational performance and lifelong career opportunities. Students are chosen by recommendation of the Morris Elementary School Reading Specialist and/or ESL teacher based on their DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) scores for kindergarten and 1st grade students, and on recommendation of needing intervention for students in a higher grade.
